"Usagi's Idol: The Graceful Genius Michiru" is the 4th episode of the 3rd season of the Sailor Moon anime and the 93rd episode overall. It aired in Japan on April 23, 1994. The CWi English dub title for this episode is "Bad Harmony", and it aired in North America on June 15, 2000.

Summary[]

Usagi believes that she is not graceful, sophisticated, and intelligent enough to be Mamoru's girlfriend, so she seeks advice from Michiru.

Plot[]

Usagi brings some cookies (a number of which are burnt) to Mamoru's apartment. He isn't there so warpped up in the place's usual mature atmosphere she drops the cookies and cries as he enters. To cheer her up Mamoru forces himself to eat one of her cookies and tells her that she's fine the way she is.

In Lovers' Park (?) the other senshi wonder how he was able to eat them all and not get sick. Ami submits that if they were thoroughly cooked there's little chance he'd get food poisoning. After laughing they brace for Usagi's rage but instead she compliments herself. She asks Ami to teach her genetic engineering, asks Makoto to teach her cooking, asks Minako to teach her English (Minako thinks "Why?" in English) and asks Rei to teach her how to wear a kimono. Minako and Makoto make excuses and run away. Rei points out that she told Usagi many times how to wear a priestess' kimono but she never got it anyway then drags Ami off with her. Luna reminds Usagi that when she tries to learn from the others she always quits within 3 days and they're sick of it. Usagi cries and runs away.

She somehow stumbles on the exact spot where Michiru was practising the violin with Haruka watching. They discuss their mission and decide that if the owners of the 3 talismans have to die then so be it (in fact they didn't have to die as Usagi told them often enough). Usagi is entranced by Michiru's playing and begins to look up to her. Haruka throws a lemon at the violin and without breaking a sweat Michiru uses the violin to solo it even while continuing to play and move as one solos a soccer ball with one's feet. Haruka heads off on her motorbike to cool off.

Usagi and Michiru go to an art gallery and a fan comes up to Michiru by her painting expressing his admiration. They go outside and Haruka returns, almost blowing their cover mentioning the enemy headquarters but Usagi didn't hear a word as she was too busy failing miserably to play Michiru's violin. They go to a restaurant where Usagi singlehandedly eats 7 icecreams and Michiru gives her 2 tickets to an upcoming violin recital. Mamoru and the other senshi and cats come too. Too busy watching Mamoru as opposed to the performance Usagi makes him sweat and verily does Rei proceed to smack her upside the head. A youma pops up and gets beaten.
