The DiC English dub title for this episode is "Sailor V Makes the Scene" and it aired in North America on October 19, 1995.

Summary[]

Zoisite disguises himself as Sailor Moon to lure Tuxedo Mask and the Sailor Guardians out into the open. The Dark Kingdom injures Tuxedo Mask but they are foiled by the appearance of Sailor Venus.

Plot[]

Queen Beryl was watching the scene where Nephrite died. Queen Beryl is very upset. Zoisite says that Tuxedo Mask has always appeared to save the Sailor Guardians. Zoisite wants to draw him out. Zoisite wants to get the two Rainbow Crystals that Tuxedo Mask had. Queen Beryl says that it is his last chance. Then, Kunzite comes and says that he would get Tuxedo Mask apart from the Sailor Senshi. Queen Beryl tells him to do it. Zoisite says that he would throw his life away for Kunzite.

Later, a bank robber is holding up a bank with a gun. Then Sailor Moon comes and hits the bank robber. But it isn't the real Sailor Moon. This makes the news. Luna sees it and thinks it was Usagi. She can't believe Usagi would do something that great.

Meanwhile, Usagi and Makoto are out in the city having fun. Usagi is eating a lot of crepes. Two window washers are outside on a platform washing the windows of a large department store nearby. Mamoru is inside looking at some books and sees the ropes holding the window washers get cut by something. One of the window washers is holding on to the rope. But the rope gets cut and he falls. Then, Sailor Moon (the fake one) comes and saves the guy. All of the people on the crowded street below saw it and think that it was great. But Mamoru can't believe that Sailor Moon would cut the rope on purpose. Usagi starts crying. She can't believe someone is using her name. Makoto says that they should contact Luna and the others. The fake Sailor Moon escapes.

Kunzite is waiting at a dock. He has set up the trap. Kunzite says that only Tuxedo Mask or the Sailor Senshi can follow the speed of his fake Sailor Moon.

All four girls are gathered at the dock. Rei says she saw the news about Sailor Moon catching the bank robber. She doesn't think that the real Sailor Moon could do it. Makoto said that she wishes the real Sailor Moon was that good. Usagi is disappointed. Then, Ami says that they should find out what the fake Sailor Moon is up to. They don't know if it is a friend or foe. Usagi says, "How can she use my name without my permission! I'll have to get some money out of it!"

Then, they hear the scream of a girl. They find the fake Sailor Moon hanging on a rope. They also see Kunzite. Usagi wants to save her. But Ami says that it might be a trap. Usagi says that she can't stand seeing Sailor Moon that way. So they transformed.

Kunzite is watching the lights of the city. He says, "What a waste of light. I want to see the darkness." Sailor Moon says, "I won't let you. That's a bad hobby to tie up girls like that." Then, the Sailor Guardians appear in front of Kunzite. But Kunzite traps the Sailor Guardians in a large dome. Sailor Mars tries her Fire Soul attack, but the energy is sucked by the barrier. Then Kunzite attacks them. The Sailor Guardians are scattered away. Sailor Jupiter tries her Supreme Thunder attack. Again, the energy is sucked by the barrier. Then Kunzite says, "Is that the strength of the Sailor Guardians?" Kunzite makes the dome smaller and smaller, trapping the Sailor Guardians closer together.

Tuxedo Mask arrives at the dock. He thinks it is a trap. But he spots the fake Sailor Moon tied up and saves her. When he carries the fake Sailor Moon into a nearby building, Sailor Moon stabs Tuxedo Mask in the back. Then, Zoisite takes off the Sailor Moon costume. He attacks, but Tuxedo Mask runs away. Since his shoulder is injured, Tuxedo Mask tries to hide.

The barrier surrounding the Sailor Guardians is very small. Sailor Jupiter tries her Supreme Thunder attack again. It is no good again as the barrier sucks the energy. Kunzite says that they can't break the barrier.

Zoisite goes around trying to draw out Tuxedo Mask. When Tuxedo Mask comes running out of hiding, Zoisite attacks. Tuxedo Mask blocks Zoisite's sword, but Tuxedo Mask's mask comes off. Queen Beryl sees Tuxedo Mask's real face and is surprised as she recognizes him. Zoisite is going to finish off Tuxedo Mask. Then, a girl's voice says, "Crescent Beam!" and something blasts Zoisite's hand. Zoisite gets mad as Tuxedo Mask escapes.

Zoisite goes to Kunzite. Kunzite is disappointed in Zoisite when Zoisite tells him that Tuxedo Mask has gotten away. Kunzite has the Sailor Guardians in the dome, and the Sailor Guardians can't breathe anymore. Zoisite calls out for Tuxedo Mask and tells him to Hand over the Rainbo Crystals. Sailor Moon yells out for Tuxedo Mask to not come out. But Tuxedo Mask comes out. Zoisite says to Tuxedo Mask and the Sailor Guardians, "Struggling only makes the pain worse. You should just give up." But then a girl's voice says, "Don't listen to him! No matter how hopeless things may seem, you must never give up." Then, the girl appears wearing a mask. She claims herself to be the Pretty Guardian who fights for Justice, Sailor Venus. She then uses Crescent Beam and blasts Kunzite and Zoisite's hands. This causes the barrier to break.

Sailor Moon gets out and looks at Sailor Venus. She asks, "You're Sailor V aren't you?" Then, a white cat comes out and says, "That is correct. She is Sailor V! Known as the Guardian of Justice. But her true identity is the Pretty Guardian, Sailor... Venus!" Luna recognizes the cat as Artemis. Zoisite is going to fight them and tells Kunzite to go. But Queen Beryl appears and tells them both to retreat. Sailor Moon looks for Tuxedo Mask, but he is gone.

Later Artemis states that the five Sailor Senshi and both cats have finally gathered. Sailor Moon asks if Sailor Venus is the Moon Princess, who smiles at her and laughs softly.

Changes[]

Changes from the Manga[]

  • When Minako is introduced in the manga, she is still under the identity of Sailor V and not Sailor Venus.
  • Sailor Venus kills Zoisite as soon as she appears.
  • Zoisite never disguised himself as Sailor Moon in the anime, although he did disguise himself as a female appearing on a television newscast.

Dub Changes[]

  • The DiC dub changes Zoisite's plan to be both Zoisite and Kunzite's plan and changes it from a plan to exclusively lure out Tuxedo Mask to one where Sailor Moon and the others will be trapped and ransomed for the two Rainbow Crystals Tuxedo Mask has. It also removes Zoisite's line about being willing to die for Kunzite.

Trivia[]

  • In the scene where Usagi first sees the fake Sailor Moon, Minako and Artemis can be seen in the crowd.
  • This is the first time the Sailor Senshi confront Kunzite, albeit unsuccessfully; Usagi would later succeed against him two episodes later. Coincidentally, both times, he used a barrier to suppress their attacks.
  • This is the second of four times the Dark Kingdom attempts to impale Tuxedo Mask, and the second of three times it was attempted by Zoisite.
  • This would be the last episode that would have Usagi introducing herself to the audience at the beginning of the episode.
  • At least one American promo commercial for the show used one clip of footage of the fake Sailor Moon (Zoisite in disguise) from this episode.
  • Usagi's final question to Minako likely references her role of pretending to be the Moon Princess in the manga; however, the anime abandoned this and revealed the Princess' true identity the next episode.
