"The Friendship of the Sailor Senshi! Goodbye Ami" is the 17th episode of the second season of the Sailor Moon anime, and the 62nd episode overall. The episode first aired in Japan  on July 10, 1993. The English dub title for this episode is "Sailor Mercury Moving On?", and the episode first aired in North America on November 8, 1995.

Summary

Ami considers leaving Japan and her life as a Sailor Senshi behind to study medicine abroad in Germany. Meanwhile, Berthier takes over Bob-Floy, an ice cream store, to spread Dark Power.

Plot

Changes

Changes From the Manga

  • The Sailor Senshi got their Star Power Sticks shortly after the defeat of Metaria and shortly before fighting the Black Moon Clan, because they destroyed their transformation pens to help Usagi fight Metaria.

Dub Changes

  • The English dub, DiC added a seatbelt to Ami's lap during a scene where she is in Mamoru's car. In episode 82, during a flashback, the seatbelt did not appear.
  • In the original Japanese version, when Ami was almost leaving for Germany, Sharing the Same Tears, one of her image songs, played in the background. The English dub replaced it with Only A Memory Away.
