Tōru Furuya is a Japanese voice actor and narrator who voiced Mamoru Chiba/Tuxedo Mask in the anime.

During the Sailor Moon 20th Anniversary Celebration in July 2012, when the new anime was announced, it was also announced that Tohru would be reprising his role as Mamoru. But as of June 5, 2014, it was instead revealed that Kenji Nojima would be taking on the role of Tuxedo Mask, and not Tōru.

Other roles of his include Yamcha in the Dragon Ball franchise, Pegasus Seiya in Saint Seiya, Amuro Ray in the Mobile Suit Gundam franchise, and Kyousuke Kasuga in Kimagure Orange Road.[2]


  • He and Mami Koyama, the voice of Esmeraude in the anime, were married together until they divorced in 1983.
