This is a list of pop culture references in Codename: Sailor V.

Vol.2 - Minako in "Game Center Crown"

On page four of Chapter 2, Volume 1, Minako is playing a game where they are saying such things as Shoryuken, Hadoken, and Yakyuken. Shoryuken (昇龍拳) and Hadoken (波動拳) are moves from the Street Fighter game series. Yakyuken (野球拳) is a Japanese variation of rock-paper-scissors.

Vol.5 - The Machinations of the Dark Agency

When Fluorite finds Minako in the guise of an idol on stage, Minako makes a speech in which she lists all of the disguises that she had in the chapter, followed by her saying Moon Power, Transform and transforming into Sailor V, which she calls her true form. This speech is similar to the speech that Cutie Honey uses when confronting an enemy.

Vol.6 - Showdown! Sailor V vs Cyber-Girl Warrior Lurga

While running to school, Minako makes a mental note to herself to watch the SMAP drama that will be airing that night. SMAP is a Japanese boy band who is perhaps the most successful Japanese band in the past twenty-five years. During the 1990s and the early 2000s, SMAP member Takuya Kimura starred in dramas that became some of the most-watched dramas of the years.

Vol.8 - Love on the Boulevard - Full Throttle Turbo

In this chapter, Minako mentions Jason (as in Jason Voorhees) and the Terminator.

Vol.10 - Sailor V in Trouble?!

When Minako is asked by her teacher to answer a question on the military commander of Takeda who lost the battle of Nagashino on May 21st of the third year of Tenshou's reign (to which the answer is Oda Nobunaga), Minako, fantasizing about Phantom Ace, mentions Superman, Moonlight Mask, Kamui the Ninja, Golgo 13, Captain Harlock, and the Terminator.

Vol.14 - The Man Who Bet on the Headband Stone

Throughout the chapter, Minako sings several popular songs. These songs are "Cross Over Mt. Amagi" by Sayuri Ishikawa (which she also references later on in the chapter), "Toki no Nagare ni Mi wo Makase" (also known as "Give Myself to the Flow of Time" and "I Only Care About You", the latter being the English translation of the Mandarin version of the song) by Teresa Teng, "Yasashii Akuma" (Sweet Devil) by Candies, "Red Sweet Pea" by Seiko Matsuda, "Attack Attack", which is the theme song of the anime Attack No.1, "Tora Tora Tora" by MAX, and "Urami Masu" (Feel My Hate) by Miyuki Nakajima. Additionally, Maiku sings "Tokyo Desert" by Hiroshi Uchiyamada and the Cool Five, while Karaoke Warrior: Mike Makii sings/references "Nagisa no Sindbad" (Sindbad on the Beach) by Pink Lady and "Mugo n iroppoi" (Silent Sexy) by Shizuka Kudō. Finally, Venus Ten Billion Volt Rock N' Rouge, Sailor V's new attack, is a reference to the song "Rock N' Rouge" by Seiko Matsuda.

Vol.15 - A New Journey Begins (Part 1)

In this chapter Utau! Dai Ryugujo, a live-action magical girl show, is mentioned.
