"Moon Gorgeous Meditation" is a moonlight/mirror-based attack that Super Sailor Moon and Super Sailor Chibi Moon use to destroy enemies in the Dream arc of the manga, of the anime, crystal, in some of the musicals, and video games.
This attack is performed with the Moon Kaleido Scope in order to shoot a powerful rainbow blast along with shattered glass-shaped energy bursts. Enemies affected by this attack are shown in a flashing background, similar to that of a mirror.
Manga and Crystal[]
In the premiere act of the Dream arc, Super Sailor Moon and Super Sailor Chibi Moon obtain mystical sceptres - Moon Kaleido Scopes - through Helios' help which they use to fight the Dead Moon Circus.
They perform the attack together as well as individually throughout the arc. Its last use is when Queen Nehelenia reflects it back upon Super Sailor Moon and her allies.
Anime[]
In the anime, Super Sailor Moon mainly uses this attack on the Lemures of the Dead Moon Circus in the SuperS season.
The Amazon Trio's Lemures fade away as they are defeated. The Amazoness Quartet's Lemures shatter into pieces instead. She can only use the attack when Super Sailor Chibi Moon uses Twinkle Yell to summon Pegasus, who then used the power of his golden horn to enable Super Sailor Moon to use its great power.
In Sailor Moon SuperS: The Movie, Super Sailor Moon performed this attack along with Super Sailor Chibi Moon in order to defeat Queen Badiane, which was strong enough to obliterate her Black Hole Hole along with her.
Musicals[]
In the musicals, Moon Gorgeous Meditation could be performed with either the Moon Kaleido Scope or with the Eternal Tiare.
In the musical "Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon ~ The Advent of Princess Kakyuu - The Second Stage Final," Sailor Moon and Sailor Chibi Moon performed an upgraded version this attack called "Moon Gorgeous Double Meditation."
Video Games[]
In the video games, this attack is performed by Super Sailor Moon in Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon S: Jougai Rantou!? Shuyaku Soudatsusen and its sequel Sailor Moon SuperS: Zenin Sanka!! Shuyaku Soudatsusen. She uses her Kaleido Moon Scope to fire a ball of energy at the target.
Trivia[]
- Meditation seems to fit the attack's name because it involves dreams.
- In the first two English dubbed episodes of Sailor Moon SuperS, before Pegasus charged up Sailor Moon's brooch, this attack was dubbed "Moon Super Moon Target" and "Super Moon Target" in the first and second episodes respectively. In the original Japanese version, she didn't say anything about the attack before she received the power from Pegasus.
- In the 2005 film War of the Worlds, this attack could be heard playing on TV in the background during one scene.
- Like Moon Princess Halation, Super Sailor Moon and Super Sailor Chibi Moon perform this attack together and typically it retains its name unlike Rainbow Double Moon Heartache or Starlight Honeymoon Double Therapy Kiss. An exception is noted above where in a musical they did perform "Moon Gorgeous Double Meditation."
