"Magic of Darkness: Esmeraude's Invasion" is the 30th episode of the 2nd season of the Sailor Moon anime and the 76th episode overall. It aired in Japan on December 4, 1993. The DiC English dub title for this episode is "Emerald Takes Over" and it aired in North America on December 3, 1998.
Summary[]
With Rubeus gone, Esmeraude takes up the job of spreading dark energy around 20th-century Tokyo. Using her Dark Henge, she targets Maxi-5, a cake shop.

- There was never a plot to create corrupting points in order to corrupt future Crystal Tokyo.
- Sailor Moon, Sailor Venus and Tuxedo Mask first meet Esmaraude on Crystal Tokyo, while Sailor Mercury, Mars and Jupiter never knew her.
