Gallica was the commander of Grimm before the Death Busters invaded the planet. After the invasion, he, his family, and Moss, the last princess of Grimm, flee to the planet Earth.

Etymology
The name "Gallica" is derived from a variety of roses known as "Rosa gallica." "Barako Hoshino" (星野バラ子), the name he uses on Earth, means "rose child of the star."
