Journey to the Future: Battle in the Space-Time Corridor

"Journey to the Future: Battle in the Space-Time Corridor" is the 36th episode of the 2nd season of the Sailor Moon anime and the 82nd episode overall. It aired in Japan on January 22, 1994. The DiC English dub title for this episode is "Future Shocked" and it aired in North America on December 11, 1998.

Summary[]

Sailor Moon and the rest of the team travel to the future where they encounter Sailor Pluto. She opens the Space-Time Door for them and they soon find out Esmeraude has planned a trap for them. Esmeraude sends a Droid after them and for the Droid to bring Chibiusa back. Without needing Sailor Moon the Droid is free to kill her but after a battle, the Sailor Senshi destroys the Droid with the Sailor Planet Attack and enters the gate of the future.

Changes from the Manga[]

Sailor Moon, Venus, Tuxedo Mask, Luna and Artemis are first introduced to Sailor Pluto when they approach the Space-Time Door. Sailor Mars, Mercury, and Jupiter were not present.
They did not confront any enemies while travelling to the 30th Century. Instead, they fought the Boule Brothers after their arrival.

Dub Changes[]

Chibiusa's dream sequence was cut from the episode
"Sailor Planet Attack" is renamed "Sailor Planet Power"
The command to activate the Time Key was changed in the English Dub.
In the original, the droid posing as her dear mother, Neo-Queen Serenity, had called Chibiusa “the Rabbit”. In the dub, she is called “Small Lady”.
