Summary[]

An embassy party is being held by the Kingdom of D, the world's largest producers of Diamonds, to unveil their national treasure for the first time in public. Luna and the Sailor Guardian suspect that the treasure could be the Legendary Silver Crystal and must investigate; however, the Dark Kingdom intends to uncover this as well.

Plot[]

Luna finds more information about the Sailor Guardians as well as Mamoru Chiba. She wonders who he is, and if he's a friend to them or an enemy.

The next morning, Usagiā€™s mom reads the newspaper, Sailor Moon solving the "Demon Bus" case is on the front page. She turns it over, to see a report of Princess D from the D Kingdom, whoā€™s arriving in Japan to show off their national treasure.

Usagi runs late for school, on the way she sees policemen on the street regulating the traffic. Arriving at school, Usagi sees Naru who tells her the cops are on the street for security reasons. Princess D who is famous for her diamonds, is coming for a showcase, a ball is going to be held at the embassy in her honour.

After school Usagi goes to Game Center Crown for a Sailor Guardian meeting, late as she had detention for failing a test. Ami teaches Rei how to play the newest Sailor V game on one of the machines. Luna calls the meeting, and says they were chosen as Sailor Guardians to protect their princess. The princess can't be found yet, as sheā€™s sealed away her powers, and may have the Silver Crystal too. Once the other Guardians are found, the princess's seal will be broken, and the information they seek will return to their memories, especially Usagi's as she was the first to awaken.

Motoki asks Usagi about the cops surrounding the streets, and she tells him about Princess D. Umino shows up with a photo of the princess, and with her large glasses, the girls think the princess looks like him. Usagi still wants to go to the ball, but Rei is hesitant because she senses trouble.

Back in the Dark Kingdom, while Jadeite recovers from his fight with the Sailor Guardians, Nephrite learns of the D Kingdomā€™s treasure and thinks it may be connected to the Silver Crystal. Queen Beryl tells him to find the Silver Crystal, and the Dark Kingdom will rule the entire universe.

At home, Usagiā€™s father gets ready for the embassy ball as he needs to write a story on the event. Usagi asks to come along, but her dad refuses and leaves the house, she decides to investigate and uses her Disguise Pen to transform into a princess.

Usagi, Ami, and Rei all attend the ball. The two look for the princess while Usagi wanders around fantasising about her life as a princess, when someone accidentally spills a drink on her dress. She goes off to find a sink to rinse off and drops her handkerchief embroidered with her name, which is picked up by Tuxedo Mask. Standing by herself on the balcony, Usagi looks sadly into the crowd as she doesn't look like a princess anymore because of her stained dress. Tuxedo Mask comes and offers her a dance, she happily agrees when recognising him. As they start to get romantic, Luna calls out to her, explaining they found Princess D, however she isnā€™t the princess they are looking for.

Princess D prepares to showcase the treasure, wishing she were as important as it seemed to the crowd. Leading the princess to her room, her attendant shows herself as Nephrite in disguise. His shadow possesses her, and she runs with the treasure towards the balcony to escape. Usagi tries to catch her, when sheā€™s pushed over the railing. Tuxedo Mask reaches out to grasp Usagi's hand, before he can pull her up, he loses his grip and both of them fall. Luna tells Usagi to use her Disguise Pen, which turns into an umbrella to float them down safely.

Usagi transforms into Sailor Moon, but realises she no longer wears her tiara, which was destroyed by the attack on Jadeite the previous day. Her body begins to feel warm, and a new tiara appears on her head. The guests are sucked into darkness by Princess D, and Sailor Mars attacks do nothing to halt Nephriteā€™s shadow. Luna tells Sailor Moon to reflect the moonlight onto it using her new tiara, using Moon Tiara Flash she banishes the shadow, causing the Shitennou to appear momentarily. They tell the Sailor Guardians to stay out of the Dark Kingdomā€™s way and swear vengeance before disappearing.

Princess D then presents the treasure to her crowd, which turns out to be a 2000c Diamond Statue of herself. A tired Sailor Moon sleeps on a bench on the balcony. Tuxedo Mask sees her and kisses her, when Usagi remembers she may have kissed him a long time ago. Luna immediately shows up and tells Tuxedo Mask to leave her alone, asking if heā€™s an enemy. He tells Luna that they might be enemies since heā€™s after the Silver Crystal too.

The episode ends with a brown-haired girl running in the street after she senses an approaching storm.
