Chibiusa learned this ability from Sailor Pluto in the manga, after the former was teased by the children of Crystal Tokyo and went wandering down the hallways to the Space-Time Door. Pluto told Chibiusa that whenever she felt sad, she should utter the phrase "abracadabra" in order to feel happier. Sailor Pluto demonstrated the ability for Chibiusa by causing flowers to appear and bloom.
When Chibiusa left the Tsukino household to go on a walk in act 17, a little girl spotted her turning Luna-P into an umbrella when it started raining. Chibiusa cheerful shouted "abracadabra pon" and used the umbrella to make birds and flowers appear to entertain the girl. However, when the little girl became started and walked away with her own mother, Chibiusa became sullen and continued to mutter "abracadabra pon" to herself.
